September 2020 TBR Book List

This is a very late TBR list, well into the month I wanted to read these books. If it helps, I’ve been in a bit of a slump after a massive pile of work, so I haven’t finished anything so far. That said, I’d like to pull myself out of it with some amazing ARCs and some quicker reads, maybe throw in a classic. You’d think since we are already over a week in, I’d pull back a bit, but that’s just not my style. Wish me luck.

For last month’s TBR check out this post. To see what I’ve read recently, I posted my wrap-up for August earlier this week.

To Read This Month

  1. Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse (October ARC)
  2. Goblin King by Kara Barbieri (November ARC)
  3. The Troll Guide by Anders Skoglind (November ARC)
  4. Ravenwood by Nathan Lowell (Book Club)
  5. Grey Sister by Mark Lawrence
  6. Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

While the first three are something I consider “work” because I promise a review, I am excited about two. I am halfway into Black Sun and I am loving it. I hope it does not disappoint. The Troll Guide is a fun illustrated book I plan to share with my son. Goblin King is the second of a series. I did not care for the first novel, White Stag, and you can read my review of it here. However, I thought it only fair to give the author another try as Stag was her debut.

While I wasn’t thrilled about my book club’s selection this month, once someone described it as Stardew Valley, I became interested again. Grey Sister is the second of a series I need to finish. It is a major goal to get through all my fantasy series that I’ve left uncompleted.

At the beginning of the year, what feels like ten years ago, I wrote a list of “20 Books in 2020.” Grey Sister is on there and so is Rebecca. It will not only tackle a classic I’ve been meaning to read but also a book on my physical shelves.

Added to My TBR

  1. Travels with Charley: In Search of America by John Steinbeck
  2. Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan
  3. Persephone Station by Stina Leicht (January ARC)

What are you reading this month? Have you read any of the books I plan to read? Let me know in the comments below.
